Cast

We'd like to thank all those epic New Zealanders who lent their voices to this production

Primary Characters

Pat Brittenden as 'Mordechai Lehman' morning talk host on Jerusalem's number one talk station, Newstalk BC

Pat Brittenden is a broadcaster, blogger, podcaster, actor and political commentator who has worked in talk radio for a decade. Pat is trained in acting with post-graduate qualifications in drama and has experience on stage with Theatresports Auckland. His most recent work is elephantTV, a panel discussion that he presented and produced with his wife.

John Clarke as 'Jonathan' the President of the Innkeepers Association

Mr John Clarke is a New Zealand comedian, writer, and satirist. Beloved for his early performances as singlet-clad Fred Dagg, Clarke has gone on to write and perform various other incisive and witty comedic productions including a Novel and a series of mock interviews with fellow comedian Bryan Dawe.

Ian Mune OBE as 'Simeon'

Ian Mune is a New Zealand character actor and director. He co-wrote and starred in Roger Donaldson’s first film, Sleeping Dogs. He also directed Came a Hot Friday, and the sequel to Once Were Warriors, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted? which won nine of its 13 New Zealand Film Award nominations in 1999. Ian has also worked with Peter Jackson playing the character Bounder in The Lord of the Rings.

Mark Hadlow as 'Benjamin' the shepherd

Mark Hadlow is one of New Zealand’s best known comedians and actors. Hadlow’s early film appearances were in serious roles, such as in Beyond Reasonable Doubt, but he is perhaps better known for his comedy roles. He also starred alongside New Zealand Māori comedian, Billy T James in The Billy T James Show. Mark’s most recent international roles include playing Harry in King Kong and Dori the dwarf in The Hobbit.

Peter Wolfkamp as ‘Joseph’

Peter Wolfkamp is most recognisable to New Zealand as the resident foreman on The Block NZ. Peter’s building portfolio includes historic Devonport villas; ultra modern townhouses; rustic country estates; restoration of a 1890’s church; and even a few months’ sabbatical in the south of France working on a 16th Century farmhouse. Peter has hosted talkback radio for many years and is the Newstalk ZB regular ‘resident builder’, taking questions from callers and offering advice on DIY projects since 2002.

Catherine Sylvester as ‘Deborah Hammerstein', Media Spokesperson for Herod's Palace

Catherine Sylvester is an actor, presenter and author who is best known to younger New Zealanders as one of the presenters on The Go Show, a television show produced for pre-school children.

Paul Webber as ‘Dr Ali Belteshazzar', Associate Professor of Astronomy from Eastern University

Originally qualified as an accountant, Paul Webber has been in business for 23 years (importing specialty plywood and other construction paneling, and manufacturing architectural acoustic ceilings and walls). More recently, Paul has been a voice and scriptwriter for Scrubcutter programmes which air on Newstalk ZB, as well as presenting voice-overs for musical productions, commercial advertising and video production. Paul is married with two adult children, and is now enjoying being a grandfather.
